Almost everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by cancer, be it a neighbor, friend, co-worker or family member. There are no radiation or chemotherapy services in North Pacific County and traveling out of the area for treatment is both costly and time-consuming. In October of 2004 local residents wanting to ease the burdens of North Pacific County cancer patients established Willapa Harbor Helping Hands [WHHH].
Willapa Harbor Helping Hands is a non-profit organization founded in October of 2004 by local residents interested in helping ease the financial burden of local patients and their families.
Consisting of five elected members volunteering his or her time, the Board of Directors of WHHH is seeking names of local cancer patients in need of financial assistance. Each request for assistance will be reviewed on an individual basis. Need and circumstance of each patient will vary and all information will be considered when making a monetary determination.
If you are aware of a local cancer patient facing financial difficulty, we encourage you to contact a member of WHHH. The Board of Directors of WHHH vows to reach decision on financial awards in a timely and prudent fashion. Names of patients recommended for financial assistance will be treated with confidentiality and no publicly disclosed.
Fundraisers and donations will support the efforts of WHHH with all monies granted EXCLUSIVELY TO LOCAL CANCER PATIENTS.
Financial Assistance may be included but not limited to payment of:
- Utility Bills
- Prescription drugs
- Rent of Mortgage Payments
- Gasoline for traveling to Doctor or treatment appointments
- Food
We welcome your questions, your attendance at monthly meetings and your support!
